Welcome to Franconia Elementary School! We are a wonderfully diverse community of approximately 500 students and 55 teachers who enjoy sharing each school year together.

We understand that the role of education is to help kids become smarter and to help them learn to become responsible, respectful citizens. To that end, we are committed to providing instruction that is grounded in current educational best practices. Our classrooms are happy places where children find pleasure in reading, writing, problem solving and science experimenting! Our goal is to empower students to be totally, joyfully engaged in their learning. Our teachers continue to be learners themselves, reading, studying, and reframing their teaching as they learn, so that they are better equipped to instruct our children.

Additionally, we have made a collective pledge to help our children understand what kindness, respect and responsibility look like in everyday life. Please see our school Expectations for Behavior. We want our children to realize that their voices are important and that they can indeed make a difference in the larger world around them.

Understanding that the link between home and school is essential, we value the work of our Home & School Association and our many Hands Across the District volunteers. These groups provide many opportunities for families and children to come together and strengthen the sense of community here at Franconia.

As our school song suggests, "…We love our school because it helps us grow, everyone is on our side." It takes all of us-parents, teachers, and our community resources-to maximize the learning opportunities for our children. Please know that all of us at Franconia Elementary are fully committed to that end.
