Arrival/Dismissal Procedures

• Morning Arrival: Arrive at school between 8:30-8:42 AM at the car rider entrance. After 8:42 AM, students must come in through the front office. After 8:45 AM, students are considered tardy and you must walk your child into the main office and sign them in. If your child is tardy, please park on the side of the school and walk your child into the main office.
   

• Afternoon Dismissal: Dismissal begins at 3:15 PM. Car riders, Kids Kare, Boys & Girls Club, and students who ride a van are dismissed first, followed by each bus as they arrive. All students being picked up must be picked up by 3:40 PM.

• Any changes to how your child is going home must be called into the office prior to 2:45 PM that day or a note sent in with your child in the morning. Please do not email the teacher; you must contact the office.
• If a student is getting picked up early from school, pick-up is encouraged prior to 2:45 PM due to bus arrival. If there is no note or contact made to the office, your child cannot go home a different way. We cannot take transportation changes from a student.

Upon arrival, press the buzzer and announce yourself. You will sign in/out your child at the table in the vestibule. Your child will enter/exit through the hallway door. This procedure includes students being sent home by the nurse.

• Car riders arrive using the kindergarten side parking lot on the right side of the building and form a line along the curb. No vehicle should park in a parking spot. Students must wait until they arrive at the entrance to exit the vehicle.
• Students CANNOT be dropped off prior to 8:30 AM. Doors will not open until this time. Students are not permitted to wait outside the entrance door or on the sidewalk prior to the doors opening; they must remain in the vehicle until the building opens. Once dropped off, loop around to the front of the building and exit at the second driveway. This driving area in front of the building is ONE WAY. DO NOT drive in the wrong way!
• During pick-up remember to place the car rider sign in your right window so it is visible to the staff on duty. This will speed up the pick-up process and identify you as an approved driver.
• All vehicles should form a single line when entering the parking lot and remain in the line until the vehicle reaches the curb area in front of the school. Please do not get out of line. Leave a travel lane open between parked cars and the car rider line so vehicles traveling through the parking lot can maneuver and exit the parking lot safely.
• For efficient drop-off have your children ready to get out of the vehicle when you stop. If when picking up you need to adjust seating, pull forward after picking up your children and make any necessary adjustments at that time.
• Students will enter and exit at the curb directly in front of the kindergarten side doors. Please do not park in the parking lot and have your child cross the parking lot.
• Parents must always remain in vehicles. A Franconia staff member on duty will assist your children into/out of your vehicle if needed.
• You will be instructed to pull forward at which time you should pull as far forward as possible along the curb.
• Remain in line and exit the parking lot as instructed above. Please do not pull around cars in line.
